We are delighted to welcome Anne Black to deliver our next Advanced Therapies Satellite seminar, Optimising Practical ATMP Implementation in the NHS.

Anne is a member of the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her role is Regional Quality Assurance Specialist Pharmacist for the North East and Yorkshire. She developed an interest and expertise in clinical trials and, in particular, Advanced Therapies Medicinal Products (ATMP), as she became involved with Newcastle Advanced Therapies as a Qualified Person for investigational medicinal products. She has since used this expertise to emphasise the important role of Pharmacy to optimise patient safety in the delivery of these medicines.

Anne is Chair of the NHS Pan UK Pharmacy Working Group for ATMPs, was a steering group member of the Northern Alliance Advanced Therapy Treatment Centre as well as sitting on the NHS Pharmaceutical QA Committee and the National Pharmacy Clinical Trials Advisory Group.

This session will discuss systems and processes required to aid optimal implementation of ATMPs, focussing on challenges from existing implementation of marketed, investigational and unlicensed ATMPs. It will provide advice for healthcare professionals, researchers, manufacturers, and sponsors, highlighting publications by the Pan UK Pharmacy Working Group for ATMPs which have been produced to promote standardisation and facilitate optimal implementation of these innovative medicines.
