New NHIP appointments

I am delighted to announce two key appointments to further strengthen Newcastle Health Innovation Partners.

Professor Dave Jones, has been appointed as Director of the NHIP Academy, which was endorsed by the NHIP Board at December’s meeting.  The NHIP Academy will develop a UK-leading education and training programme, building on our existing excellence in this area, to offer academic health and care career development for all professions and will be launched in April 2022. The work of the Academy will be a major element of NHIP’s Education and Training Sub-Committee, which Dave Chairs.

Maurya Cushlow, Executive Chief Nurse at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has been appointed as Chair of the NHIP People and Culture Sub-Committee which oversees an exciting programme across Partners which includes widening participation, improved joint systems and processes across Partners and piloting new service roles. Maurya brings significant experience, expertise and diversity to the role and will take over the sterling work of Professor Andy Fisher, the previous Chair of this Committee.
