NHIP Welcomes Triple Appointment

Newcastle Health Innovation Partners (NHIP), the Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) for our area, welcomes three new recruits.

The recent appointment of Sian Johnson, Anna Irvin and Holly-Ann Carl has bolstered the NHIP team as the AHSC goes from strength to strength.

Sian Johnson joins NHIP as the new Operations Administrator. Sian brings with her a breadth of experience within event management and operational roles.

She said:

“I am looking forward to supporting the successful delivery of NHIP objectives. I think the collaboration between the five organisations is a great way to deliver healthcare solutions that can truly benefit the diverse North East population.”

Both Anna and Holly-Ann have been appointed as Project Managers.

Anna is Project Manager for Research and Innovation, one of NHIP’s strategic priorities. She brings with her experience from multiple research related roles within academic institutions and the NHS.

Commenting on her appointment, Anna said:

“I have an appreciation of what it takes to deliver and coordinate research and in my previous role as Clinical Trial Coordinator, I developed an enthusiasm for collaborative working within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

“I am excited to be taking on the role of Project Manager to assist with translating the amazing ideas and potential within our region, into a reality. I am passionate about working in the North East and believe that by working collaboratively, we can utilise the established infrastructure and expertise in the area to support innovation and advances in research, health and care for the people that live here.”

Holly-Ann joins NHIP as the Project Manager for People and Culture after working in Newcastle University’s Engagement and Place Team. Holly-Ann has experience of bringing together academic and professional service colleagues to develop a culture of public engagement that supports better research and teaching.

Holly-Ann said:

“Within my previous role, I developed a passion for managing collaborative projects with the aim of delivering mutual benefit for our partners which had real world benefit. I am excited to be taking on the role of Project Manager for NHIP with a focus on People and Culture and continue work on building a culture of collaborative working across the partnership.”

Hannah Powell, NHIP Chief Operating Officer, is delighted with the new additions to the NHIP team and said:

“The recent appointment of Sian, Anna and Holly-Ann will play a pivotal role in the success of how we deliver our overall objectives, helping us to refine the output of our key focus areas. I very much look forward to working together going forward.”
